Randy Newman

Randy Newman is a globally recognized name, having won two Oscars, five Grammys, three Emmys, as well as being an inductee into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. He is known for scoring films including modern classic children’s films Toy Story, A Bug’s Life and Monsters, Inc. Despite all of this unbridled acclaim, Newman remains down to earth and maintains his sense of humor. His tongue-in-cheek succinct style has been often imitated, but never duplicated with the same flair. As a forty-plus year veteran of the music business, Randy Newman shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Newman remains one of my all time favourites in contemporary music. He is funny, though his songs are often tragic.

Thanks for all of your comments about Randy Newman! Having interviewed him, I can tell you that he is a truly genuine person. Not only is he an Oscar and Grammy Award winning musical legend, but his lighthearted personality really came through in his performance. He is still going strong!
