Redefining immigration?

This week immigration is at the front burner in American's minds, closely followed by the negotiations for an effective financial reform. Although people interviewed for the poll where not given the details of the new immigration law in Arizona, the consensus seems to back the need for a drastic change in the way laws are applied. Energy takes a second seat to fixing Wall Street. All that and more in this week's What Are We Thinking with Frank Newport, Editor-in-Chief on the Gallup Poll and WHYY's Dave Heller.

This week on What Are We Thinking:

- Majority leader Harry Reid has angered Republican Senator Lindsey Graham when he talked about moving up a new immigration bill to take priority over the energy/climate bill Graham had been working on… and there is the financial reform bill… which of these do Americans think is most important?

- The Coast Guard has tried burning oil in the Gulf of Mexico to stop the spread of the oil leak that resulted for the drilling platform explosion… where does the public stand on expanded drilling?

- Rethinkig how Americans plan to pay for retirement. Social Security as a better option than retirement investments, and more.
