Delaware State Police say 20 year old Christopher Reeves was driving a car that was stopped by two Georgetown Police officers who were investigating a shooting Tuesday night. Police say Reeves jumped out of the car, that's when his passenger Derrick Powell allegedly opened fire on the officers. The gunfire killed Patrolman Chad Spicer and injured Cpl. Shawn Brittingham. Powell was arrested and charged with murder a short time later. Police had been searching for Reeves until he turned himself in Friday morning. Police had warrants for Reeves charging him with failing to stop at the command of an officer and resisting arrest.

Patrolman Spicer will be laid to rest on Tuesday. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM at Crossroads Community Church in Georgetown. Visitation will start at 10 AM. He will be buried at the Cokesbury Cemetery immediately following the service.
