Portion of Delaware Canal drained due to flooding

The portion of the Delaware Canal that runs through New Hope, Pennsylvania has been drained after only being open for a few months.
The small section began to leak and cause flooding for nearby stores shortly after being re-opened.
Delaware Canal State Park manager Rick Dalton says they're looking for the cause and hope to have it open again soon. The $100,000 project will cost at least another $30,000 to repair.
Dalton says the beauty of the canal is the water and without it tourism may take a hit.
“We're just at the end of the repairs that took about two- and a half years to complete,” says Dalton. “We just started to see the light at the end of the tunnel and we put water back in and we run into these new problems.”
The 60-mile canal sustained major damage in 2004. Major floods made it worse in 2006. It had just re-opened this year.
