Southwest Airlines is adding service to Boston beginning in June. Brad Hawkins is a spokesperson for the Dallas-based carrier. He says customers requested the Boston service.

Hawkin: That's been a route that people have been asking us for since we came into Philly, and that's because business and leisure travelers are sometimes accustomed to paying well over a thousand dollars for a round trip walkup fare.

Southwest is starting what it calls "right pricing" on the route, with a $59 one-way fare and five daily Boston flights. Airport CEO Mark Gale says he's pleased with the Southwest expansion, and is hopeful the airline will bring even more routes to Philadelphia.
