SEPTA riders who invested in weekly or monthly transpasses only to be left stranded by the surprise walkout last week can get refunds. SEPTA Officials say unused weekly transpasses can be exchanged for new ones, and holders of monthly passes can get reimbursed for the 6-day walkout.

If riders did not use their transpasses to ride the regional rail trains during the strike, SEPTA officials say they can exchange them for a new weekly pass. SEPTA spokeswoman Jerri Williams says in order to get the most bang for their buck, those riders might want to wait several days before turning them in.

Williams: The weekly transpass is good from Monday through Sunday so at this point of the week it might be best for someone looking to have their pass exchanged to wait until next week.

Willams says riders who purchased monthly passes can get a $20 dollar refund for the lost week, when they purchase a new monthly pass. The refunds and exchanges will be honored at any SEPTA sales office, or at private business that sells transpasses.
