Mass transit returning to normal

Monday, November 9th, 2009

SEPTA's buses trains and trolleys are rolling again after a tentative settlement to the Transport Workers Union's six-day walkout.

Passengers poured off buses and the Market Frankford El at 5th and Market – happy mass transit is back to normal – but frustrated with the six day ordeal.  Rochelle Fulton expressed her frustration with both SEPTA and the union.

Fulton: Everybody's working very hard, we're in a recession, my job don't pay into pension,  people don't have jobs, people's salaries are being cut people are struggling, what makes SEPTA so great. They are corrupt from the ground up it's just ridiculous what they do.

Fulton also didn't have kind words for the Transport Workers Union – saying it was a bad decision to strike. Most of her fellow riders on the El (Market Frankfort subway line) did say they'll continue to ride SEPTA now that the walkout is over.
