Imagine hopping on a bike and riding from New Brunswick in Central New Jersey – southwest to New Hope, Pennsylvania, then south through Philadelphia, and finally ending in northern Delaware. 128 miles of biking and walking paths and traffic lanes.

Spencer Finch is Director of Sustainable Development for the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, which organized the grant application. He says the bike trail could actually be used for people to bike to work, something he says, is already on the upswing.

Finch: Ten years ago, you almost didn't see anybody biking in Center City. Five years ago, you saw more and more people biking. Today, if you walk around anywhere in Center City, you see people biking everywhere.

If the project wins funding, it would be completed by early 2012.
