New Report emphasizes prevention of mental health disorders in children

Disorders like depression, anxiety, or substance abuse are about as common as fractured limbs in children. This is according to a new report from the National Research Council and Institute of Medicine. The report also says these disorders cost over 240 billion dollars every year nation wide. The report urges the federal government to make increased prevention efforts. WHYY's behavioral health reporter Maiken Scott spoke with Dr. Dan Gottlieb about the findings:
