According to the 2005 US census, over 2.5 million children are living with a relative caregiver other than their birth parents. This type of arrangement, known as kinship care, now exceeds he number of children living in non-relative foster care. A recent study evaluated how children are doing in both settings. Maiken Scott reports from WHYY's Behavioral Health desk.
