Bravo Health focuses on Medicare Advantage

At a time when some private health insurance companies are offering fewer Medicare Advantage plans, one Pennsylvania company plans to expand its business.

Medicare is a government-run health plan. Medicare Advantage plans are managed by private insures, like Aetna and Blue Cross, who provide upgraded benefits, including dental and vision care

Many companies say federal cut backs make the business unprofitable, so they're offering fewer plans next year. Bravo Health Pennsylvania is an exception.

Jason Feuerman is Bravo's executive director. He says the company is expanding its Medicare Advantage business into new markets.

Feuerman:
The only thing we do is Medicare that's our only line of business. So we don't have a commercial line of business. Which means that every single thing we do with our providers is focused on delivering Medicare benefits.

Feuerman says Bravo rewards doctors who keep their patients in good health, and he says, in the long run, that lowers the company's costs.
