Republican Toomey wins US Senate seat

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

A close race ended with a Republican win in Pennsylvania’s U-S Senate contest. It went from uncomfortably close to victory to Pat Toomey.

The classic republican victory unfolded in the Senate race. Democrat Joe Sestak jumped out to an early lead but Pat Toomey chipped away at the Sestak advantage, winning the race when all was said and done. Toomey says he feels the Republican party has a mandate from the electorate.

“I think voters want a change they want to get off the track we are on in Washington a track of ever bigger government,
massive deficits excessive government regulation and move in a direction where we focus on job growth in the private sector, get spending under control and just bring some balance to Washington.”

Toomey says he will work with Pennsylvania’s other Senator Bob Casey and other Democrats to form alliances and help turn the country around.
