Republican duo rally Philadelphia voters

The Republican candidates for statewide office in Pennsylvania were flying from campaign stop to campaign stop Monday on the eve of the election.
Touching down near Philadelphia’s Northeast Airport, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett helped rally about 200 Republican supporters as part of the statewide tour.
“Are you going to man the polls? Are you going to call people who haven’t come out to vote?” he yelled. The crowd answered with a resounding, “Yesss!”
U.S. Senate candidate Pat Toomey said yesterday it could be an important Election Day for the Republican Party — if the voters turn out. He said he’s feeling very good about his chance of victory.
“Ten being the highest, I’m pretty much at a 10.” he said. “I’m very confident. The energy, the momentum has been terrific. The enthusiasm of our supporters is really awesome. We have a tremendous network of volunteers across the commonwealth.”
Republicans don’t have much support within Philadelphia, but party officials hope they can bring out enough voters everywhere else to win statewide.
