VP Biden tells MSNBC Coons is the candidate

In an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, Vice President Joe Biden says Delaware Democrats have a strong candidate to run for his former Senate seat, New Castle County Executive Chris Coons.
In response to a question about the strength of Republican candidate Mike Castle, Biden pointed to the voter registration advantage that Democrats have over Republicans in Delaware. He added, "I predict to you that Chris Coons is going to surprise the devil out of them." Coons has not yet officially announced that he's running, but has said he's "seriously considering" a campaign.
Even though Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden didn't announce his plans not to run until January 25, his father says he basically made the decision to run for reelection as AG instead of for Senate as long ago as Thanksgiving.
