New Jersey Governor Christie says political appointments Gov Jon Corzine made in his final weeks in office were nothing less than political favors.

Corzine appointed dozens of loyalists to various boards and commissions. Among them was his Education Commissioner Lucille Davy whose appointment to the state Board of Pharmacy will allow her to become vested in the state pension system.
Christie says appointments like these and other made by previous Governor are nothing more than gifts.
Christie: It's wrong. It's wrong when Republicans do it. It's wrong when Democrats do it becauseĀ in the end we are fleecing our own state. We are making ourselves less competitive. We're hurting the everyday citizens who have to pick up the tab for this.
Christie says some of those boards really aren't needed and will be eliminated within the first half of the year.
