N.J. Senate to vote on gay marriage Thursday

The New Jersey State Senate is scheduled to vote on the gay marriage bill on Thursday. The legislation has not yet been scheduled for votes in the Assembly.

The measure narrowly cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee after seven hours of testimony by supporters and opponents.
Governor-elect Chris Christie says he would veto the bill.
Governor Corzine says he knows many people believe there's a coordinated effort to get gay marriage enacted before he leaves office in January.
Corzine: I can understand that. I mean I've made it very clear I will sign this I am an advocate. I think it's the right thing to do.
Corzine says lawmakers were preoccupied earlier in the session with the state's financial crisis. He says the gay marriage bill is now being considered as part of the normal course of events. It's uncertain whether there are enough votes for it to be approved by the full Senate.
All indications are the vote will be close.
