Christie to cap spending for inauguration

Governor-elect Chris Christie says he will use the same rules that are in the state's "pay-to-play" law when it comes to raising money for his inauguration.

Christie says he was not even aware the fundraising limits under "pay-to-play" did not apply to inauguration contributions. But he says he will use those limits.
Christie: I know there's some restriction there's only a $500 maximum so for people they can contribute $300 if they're covered by "pay-to-play." For some people they can contribute $500 if they're not. But in the end those moneys are going to be used to pay for the inaugural ceremonies and whatever other money we have we will make sure it gets donated to charity for people who need help right now.
Christie wants to extend "pay-to-play" restrictions and eliminate loopholes that exempt unions from complying with the contribution limits. He says he'll see if the Legislature will go along with the idea or may act through the use of an executive order.
