President Bill Clinton implored the crowd to do something he said the Governor can't do on his own in debates or television ads – give voters the space to vent their frustrations, and consider the candidates.

Clinton: If these were the real choices in normal times, this would be a run away election for the Governor, wouldn't it? The only reason it's not a runaway election is, people are hurting. So if he did something good, they figured he got a paycheck every two weeks and that's more than a lot of them got, right? They're hurting and they figure how could it be worse?

The three candidates for governor will face off in a debate on Thursday.
