The New Jersey Assembly Republicans' Policy Committee got an earful at a hearing at the Statehouse on how to cut waste in New Jersey government.

Michael Hojnaski a builder from Lawrenceville, says government employees who get the use of a state vehicle, should help pick up some of the tab.
Hojanski: If you can't ask the state workers to buy a set of tires, change the oil once in a while on their own dime, take the car away. Stop being so like pansy-ish. Take the car. It's a privilege. If I had to work and get a $20,000 dollar car, I got to pay $400 a month. I got to make $650 cash to bring home $400 to pay that.
Hojnaski urged the state to hire an auditor to monitor spending on major construction projects. He says he'd be willing to volunteer his time to be part of a Common Sense Committee to come up with other ways of saving taxpayers' money.
