The negotiations between the Temple Association of University Professionals and the university went on virtually around the clock for three days this week until the final deal was struck. Art Hockner is head of the union. He says after 14 months, he believes the deal is one the university's faculty can accept.
Hockner: I think that they will ratify this with no problem and we'll be happy to go forward together for the next three years.
Details of the contract are being made available to teachers on a secure website, and an electronic vote among members will be conducted over the next several weeks. University officials are pleased that the contract dispute was tentatively resolved before classes begin next week.
