Daggett says he raised more than $10,000 dollars above the $340,000 minimum to qualify for the matching campaign money. He'll now get $2 in matching money for every $1 he raises until reaching a total of $10.9 million. Daggett says qualifying for the matching funds is a significant boost for his campaign.

Dagnett: It enhances my candidacy. It enables me to reach a broader audience. I will be able to participate in the fall debates so there will be three of us.

Republican Chris Christie is also using the matching program. Democratic incumbent Jon Corzine is not participating in public financing, meaning there is no set limit on how much he can spend.
