Thousands of undocumented immigrants had been using federal tax ID numbers to get a Pennsyslvania drivers license because they didn't have a social security number. A recent review by state transportation officials resulted in warning letters being sent saying licenses would be revoked if people couldn't provide proper documentation. Immigration attorney John Landau says discussion continues.

Landau: Representatives of the ACLU and the American Immigration Lawyers Association as well as a number of other groups will be meeting with them in Harrisburg on Monday to talk about the situation and try and reach a fair approach to resolving the drivers license issues that effects many many immigrants.

A PennDot spokesperson says they have no firm deadline, but are asking people with the proper documentation to go to a drivers license center to resolve the issue.
