Drexel student named College Entrepreneur of the Year

Entrepreneur Magazine has named a Drexel University student as "College Entrepreneur of the Year." The college sophomore created software that can be used on cash registers in college dining halls.

19-year-old Bradley Ericson's award winning idea is really simple: When students buy food their ID card is swiped and instead of getting a printed receipt, the dollar amount will go automatically onto an account they can check online.
Ericson says it all started when he went to a Drexel dining hall to grab a slice of pizza with his friends,
Ericson: You know me being a normal college guy I was like how can I make this better? How can I eliminate this one wasteful paper receipt that was literally littered all around dining halls and everything. And I just wanted to get my pizza faster – I didn't wanna wait for the cashier to change the roll or wait for her to print every single receipt for all my friends.
Ericson says he hopes the digital receipt system will soon be set up at Drexel.
