Rutgers University's Camden campus will soon have a new Chancellor.  Wendell Pritchett will takes the reins of the state university's major South Jersey campus at the end of June.  He will be the first African American to get the school's top job.

Transcript:
Wendell Pritchett will be a newcomer to Rutgers, but he's no stranger to the region.  The Penn Law professor was an adviser to Mayor Nutter on urban policy during his mayoral campaign and when Nutter first took office last year.

Pritchett says one of his top priorities at Rutgers will be to create more student housing, something he says students have been clamoring for.

Pritchett: "We will always be a commuter campus, and I think that's an important role for Rutgers to play, so I certainly wouldn't want to change that, but I think we can do both.  I think we can be a commuter campus and be a live-in campus."

Of the more than 5,600 students at Rutgers-Camden, just 550 live on-campus.  Pritchett also says he wants to increase enrollment at Rutgers generally to raise the school's revenues.
