When I see a Prius, I'm expecting to see a very inexperienced driver behind the wheel. After being coerced by slick marketing, they spend serious cash on this car, often their first. I've seen these same drivers go the wrong way on a one way street or make crazy u -turns in center city. Nothing wrong with a dork mobile. In fact a car like that is not dorky at all. It's the driver. that's the issue. So, when you see a Prius on the road, run!!!
New fuel efficient cars just clog the roads with more and more cars.. If folks want to be "green" and keep up with the recycling trend buy a USED Toyota Tercel. It gets the same mileage as a Prius, and costs less to own. just ask your insurance company.
If you want style and want to be green, buy a used (or new) VW Jetta or Golf clean-diesel, as VW calls them… you'll get better mileage than a Prius, more performance and better looks, in my humble opinion.
We're still waiting for the Chevy Volt to go on sale. November maybe? I hope. Then you are really talking about saving fuel and the air.
