Shai Ben-Yaacov
Shai has covered stories across the region for WHYY on topics ranging from city politics to education to local sports figures. As newsroom producer, he proposes and edits daily stories for other reporters, along with contributing items to the newsroom as a general assignment reporter.
Shai began his radio career as a newsroom volunteer in 2004. He was the Production Assistant on WHYY’s local Morning Edition newscast for three years, during which the morning team won numerous broadcast awards from groups including the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists.
In addition, Shai was the local Sunday morning host for two years, and is a fill-in host for local afternoon weekday newscasts.
