The Mann Center for the Performing Arts released its summer schedule this morning, and one name stands out: the Philadelphia Orchestra will be performing with former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice.
After serving in the White House, Rice's fall-back career appears to be as a classical pianist.
Rice has played since she was a child, and attracted attention for keeping up the habit while with the Bush administration – even performing for the Queen of England. She will perform Mozart with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Mann director Katherine Cahill says Rice will also back up the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
“Aretha is planning to sing arias, and we understand Rice will accompany her on the piano,” says Cahill. “So, obviously when she plays Mozart, Aretha will not be singing, they will be collaborating both together in the arias that evening as well.”
Another surprise in the Mann summer schedule is the absence of free lawn tickets on its website. The picnic-seating tickets will be made available through the Mann's community outreach program this season.

Condi Rice told the 9/11 Commission and the 9/11 Widows under oath that the "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US" memo was not a warning. It warned of preparations for hijackings and planned attacks in the US.
On July 10, 2001, CIA director George Tenet warned Condi that al Qaeda attacks were coming in the next few weeks. Later he said acting on those warnings might have prevented 9/11. Cofer Black said "The only thing we didn't do was pull the trigger to the gun we were holding to her head."
The UK, Germany, Italy, and Egypt warned of aircraft as weapons; Russia of suicide pilots; Jordan and the Cayman Islands of attacks involving airlines. 13 foreign countries and 3 FBI offices warned. Israel warned of 19 terrorists plotting inside the USA, and named at least 4 of the alleged hijackers.
The German press reported that the August 6 PDB was actually 11-1/2 pages long, not the 1-1/2 pages we've seen.

i think a great way to end the concert would be to invite anyone of Iraqi ancestry on stage, and then Condie can drop a bomb on them.
Thanks for the info, but when will the Dell East re-open?
