"Turnpike" World Series divides the Garden State

The World Series match-up between the Phillies and the Yankees is bringing up an age-old loyalty question in the Garden State.

New Jersey doesn't have a Major League Baseball team. Depending on where you go New Jersey, fans could be rooting for the Yankees or the Phillies. Steve Chernoski produced and directed the documentary "New Jersey the Movie." He says his informal studies show a defined Phils-Yanks line.

Chernoski: I would say it probably goes around Phillipsburg in the Northwest which is considered to be part of the Lehigh Valley, separate Trenton and Princeton with Princeton being more for the Yankees, and Trenton more for the Phillies, and then kind of goes diagonally Southeast towards Long Beach Island.
Chernoski says the split appears to be in part because of the television stations shown on the cable systems, and which teams the local newspapers follow closely.
