Grandma’s Apple Cake

Recipe By Beechwood Orchards

Need a good and healthy dessert to make for your Saturday BBQ or get together. Try this apple cake, it’s just like Grandma’s!


  • 1 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cup diced apples
  • 3 cup flour
  • 3 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped nut (optional)


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk


    1. Combine oil, sugar, and eggs; beat well. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Bake in a greased and floured 9×13 pan at 325° F for 50 minutes. Let cool; then glaze.
    2. Glaze: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over cooled cake. This is very runny. Let glazed cake set for 15 minutes.
