Chapter 1: Open

Chapter 2: Adjusting to marriage equality

Joining same sex couples in holy matrimony has been a long time coming for many Delaware gay partnerships that have first pushed for civil unions, then the recently passed marriage equality bill. We took the issue of the marriage equality bill to the churches that will ultimately have the right to marry these couples by the summer, but most likely will not do so. We also talk to the wedding planners that may see an increase in business.

Chapter 3: Grading the Governor

About six months into Delaware Governor Jack Markell’s second term he’s already had some big wins, from same-sex marriage to parts of his gun control package. At some point, the process of comparing Markell’s time in office to past Delaware governors will begin. Out content partner Delaware Today Magazine has done a little bit of that, and we’ve joined them in that effort featured in the June edition.

Chapter 4: The Markell administration

State of Play talks about how we’ll view Jack Markell’s administration, what should the state do with newly found tax revenue, and whether some officials in New Castle County government are just behaving badly.

Chapter 5: The Tornoe Spin

Navigating through changes in the way banks do business is tricky business, especially in Delaware where banks have always been a part of the economic fabric. Newsworks cartoonist Rob Tornoe reviews how Senator Tom Carper and Congressman John Carney view those changes.

Chapter 6: Content Delaware

Memorial Day weekend is upon us. Honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice is the primary message this weekend. During World War II, the area known as Cape Henlopen State Park was know as Fort Miles. Our content partner Content Delaware takes a look back.

Chapter 7: First Experience: A walk along the Misspillion

Regular First viewers may remember the show we broadcast from the banks of the Mispillion River in 2011. It’s been one man’s mission to make sure the River walk that goes through town remains a beautiful destination. We visit with him in our First Experience.
