Art Museum to welcome back Cezanne

Associated Press is reporting that Cezanne will have another go around at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in February.  The exhibition will be called “Cezanne and Beyond” and include paintings by the French post-impressionist painter and paintings by Matisse, Picasso and others who were influenced by him.

Tickets are on sale now for members and will go on sale to the general public on November 15th.

You’ll recall the last time the museum hosted a Cezanne exhibition was in 1996 and attracted over 700,000 visitors who generated an estimated $60 million in economic activity during the show’s 3-month run.

With the city facing a down economy and severe budget problems, some positive “economic impact” can’t come soon enough.
