A Study in Black and White

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008 at 8:00 pm - by Tom Ferrick

Stand back, I am going to try talk about issue of race in the presidential election without histrionics or hysterics.
Let’s begin with a prediction.
In next week’s election, Barack Obama will win 99 percent of the black vote in Philadelphia.
To some people, that would be proof that blacks will only vote for blacks and that this is [...]

Other Races to Watch

Monday, October 27th, 2008 at 9:27 am - by Tom Ferrick

With the election – finally, at last, thank heavens – just a week away, the race for President has taken up most of the political oxygen. But there are a number of other races that will be on the ballot, including half the Pennsylvania State Senate and all 203 House seats.

It was an unusual [...]

Voter fraud? Let’s look at the facts

Sunday, October 19th, 2008 at 1:16 am - by Tom Ferrick

Is there a scheme to engage in widespread voter fraud on Nov. 4 in Pennsylvania to steal the election from John McCain?

That is the claim made in a GOP suit filed Friday.  The state party said that without court intervention the outcome of the election “may be determined by illegal ballots.” Allegations of vote stealing [...]

Pennsylvania fast becoming a “bridge to nowhere” for McCain/Palin campaign

Friday, October 17th, 2008 at 5:01 am - by Tom Ferrick

John McCain and Sarah Palin spent Tuesday campaigning in Pennsylvania, but they should put their time to better use. It’s over in Pennsylvania and the winner will be Barack Obama.
The public polls say it. The political experts say it. In private, even Republican leaders concede it. Pennsylvania’s 21 electoral votes are going to Obama.
What looked [...]
