PA and DE casinos pose bigger threat to AC

Pennsylvania and Delaware’s slots-only casinos are going to be adding table games in the future. Last week, the Pennsylvania legislature and the Governor agreed to a budget that would expand gambling in the form of blackjack and poker tables. Delaware added the games in May. Atlantic City is already on the offensive boasting on billboards over the summer proclaiming that Atlantic City offers you more.
AC has a little time before the revenue pie gets shared because in Pennsylvania the governor wants to tighten gambling laws before green lighting table games. In Delaware, the state wants to do a study on table games before moving ahead.
Philadelphia’s first casino Sugarhouse is expected to break ground next month and hopes to have its temporary facility open next fall.
