A new survey of geo-tagged pictures loaded on Flickr shows that Independence Hall/Liberty Bell is the most photographed spot in the city. You might say, Duh, but this kind of survey could become more useful as geo-tagging in digital cameras and cell phones becomes more standard. Imagine the boon this kind of data will be to tourism officials. They already have a list of best vantage points for great pictures. Philadelphia popped up in the survey as one of the world’s top 25 cities for people uploading these geo-tagged photos.
Here’s a list of the most popular locations people are taking pictures in Philadelphia.
1 Liberty Bell
2 Art Museum
3 City Hall
4 Logan Circle
5 Citizens Bank Park
6 Rittenhouse Square
7 Center City
The survey was written up this month in Travel & Leisure’s blog. I’ve pulled out the Philadelphia stats, but the survey was huge. Researchers looked at 35 million pictures on Flickr over a six-month period. In the end, Philadelphia didn’t make on any of the elite lists.

I’m not surprised that the Liberty Bell is the most popular spot in the Philadelphia region for photos. But I’d like to know whether you think there are other spots in this area that probably should be a Top Ten most photographed spots.
