This was the scene from a health care town hall meeting last week in Tampa, Florida. tonight be a repeat?
(update: 8/13/09 @ 721a.m. - Sestak’s town hall meeting was “relatively tame.”
The nation’s next health care town hall meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Broad Street Ministries just south of City Hall in Philadelphia.
I’m guessing that tonight will be no different and several folks will feel the need to express their First Amendment rights at the top of their lungs and tomorrow on the news we’ll see them. What a shame this will be. A shout-fest at Broad Street Ministries couldn’t be further from the spirit from the work that’s being done there. Check out the video they have on their website. It’s pretty inspiring and will probably seem even more ironic tomorrow morning.
Location: 315 S Broad St. Philadelphia
I am all for democracy but do the people who are screaming about a communist takeover of America’s health care system really believe what they are saying? Have they not looked at the text of the bill? I’m willing to hear pros and cons on the health care reform bill, but let’s please stay on topic.
Feel free to leave any thoughts you have on health care reform or about what you think about the scream-fest strategy being promoted by some (not all) of the opponents to reform.
