Back on earth: Philadelphia city council staffer gets 4 years for corruption

The scales of justice seem to be back in working order today. After last month’s slap on the wrist sentence for former state Senator Vince Fumo, today Christopher Wright who was convicted on three counts of corruption was sentenced to four-years in jail.
According to KYW, today’s sentence is even harsher than what the Federal Sentencing Guidelines called for. Under the recommended sentence, Wright was facing around two-and-a-half years.
Wright was found guilty in February of abusing his position as Chief of Staff to City Councilman Jack Kelly. Wright had received a rent-free apartment in Philadelphia’s posh Rittenhouse Square section, plus he got a check for $1000 in exchange for promising to help a pair of developers win favorable legislation.
Councilman Kelly was never implicated in the influence peddling scheme.
Does anyone think that Christopher Wright got more than he deserved?
