This is courtroom audio from the sentencing hearing for former state Senator Vince Fumo on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. This was Fumo’s chance to personally make a plea for a lenient sentence from Judge Ronald Buckwalter. It lasted 16 minutes before a packed courtroom of nearly 300 people in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia. Following Fumo’s testimony, Judge Buckwalter took a short recess before sentencing the former political power broker to 4 years and 7 months in prison.
