The Philadelphia Police Department began yesterday patrolling areas of the city on 10 new Segways.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey told KYW that the two-wheel motorized units extend an officer’s capabilities.
“On a Segway, you are able to get down there very, very quickly, so it does extend your ability to patrol very, very significantly.”
