Thanks to Will Bunch for posting this video to his Attytood blog this morning. If you haven’t been following this story, the controversy is that John Yoo, who was the legal architect for President Bush’s “enhanced interrogation” program, is a paid commentary writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer. Many critics of the Bush Administration think that Yoo should be behind bars for giving the green light for water boarding. The Inquirer has been getting a lot of flack for having Yoo as one of their op-ed writers.

Also, Will Bunch was on Democracy Now on Monday talking about this controversy. He was the first to write about this issue last week. He is a senior writer at The Philadelphia Daily News.

John Yoo continues to be listed as a “Distinguished Scholar” over at the National Constitution Center. I noticed this a while ago and check the website every now and then when the Yoo controversy flares up. He is still listed on a panel that includes Sandra Day O’Connor, Scalia, Stephen Breyer, Sheldon Hackney, Bill Moyers, and others. I have wondered if he earned his spot on the panel through his work on the torture memos because my impression is that he was not as prominent before the controversy. So I’m curious about the panel and how the Constitution Center makes their selections. http://constitutioncenter.org/ncc_about_Distinguished_Scholars_Panel_.aspx
