City Controller’s Race: Triple Play for Debates

This week the candidates for Philadelphia City Controller will debate three times. The first was held on Monday at the University of Pennsylvania. It was sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Committee of Seventy. You can read about it here.

The second is scheduled for this evening at 6:30 p.m. at the National Constitution Center.  This debate will feature Controller Alan Butkovitz, his two Democratic challengers Brett Mandel and John Braxton, and the lone Republican Al Schmidt. The moderator will be Larry Platt Editor-in-Chief of Philadelphia magazine one of the events sponsors. To attend this event you are asked to make a reservation. call: 215.409.6700

The third debate is sponsored by WHYY and NEastPhilly.com and will be held Thursday, May 7 @ 7:00 p.m. It will feature the three Democratic candidates and be moderated by Chris Satullo, WHYY’s Executive Director of News and Civic Dialogue. It will be held at the John Perzel Community Center at 2990 St. Vincent Street.
