Week 2 of our Photo Scavenger Hunt

Monday, April 20th, 2009 at 11:37 am - by Dan Pohlig. Filed under: Community, Entertainment.

Last week we started an unconventional photo contest of sorts where instead of accepting submissions or captions, our resident photographer and excellent intern Masashi Hanada takes the photos and we ask you to identify the object and put it in its geographic and, if possible, symbolic and historic context. The response was great and we were relieved that we had at least a few people who were able to identify all three photos. As promised, we bring you the second installment of this photo scavenger hunt.

The first and third photos probably don’t need any hints but the second photo might be a tough one. You may have to let your maternal instincts go to work and hope the answer just springs to mind.

So if you’ve come to this post from our front page, click on “Read More” to see this week’s photos.  If you got here via a direct link then (a) keep scrolling down and (b) let us know where the link was posted; we’re always interested in that info.

We’ve turned off comments for this post so no one is tempted to give up the answers to everyone else.  Send your answers to intern Masashi by emailing him at mhanada (at) whyy.org.  Just like last week, we will give a special call out (bold face, centered, a larger font size) to the first reader to email Masashi with all three correct answers and give honorable mention to other readers who answer all three correctly.  If we can get the response to this contest up to at least 100 emails, I’ll even come up with a prize for the winner (so tell your friends to give it a try!!!)

So click on the “Read More” and get to work!

Good luck!
