Got a favorite big ship? Follow it here!

You want to know where this ship is in its journey? See below.

So I noticed from my daily Philadelphia Business Journal update that the Tasty Baking Company has finally moved its offices into its new digs at the Navy Yard way down at the south end of Broad Street. I mentioned this to Alan which reminded him to check out a website that he had seen posted on a billboard at the Navy Yard (see, billboards work!)

PhillyShipYard.com is the home of the Aker Philadelphia Shipyard company, builders of really big ships. (Even bigger than the S.S. United States!) Poking around the site didn’t yield any news or offers of free Tastykakes but it did reveal this cool page that describes and gives pictures of the ships that have been built here in Philadelphia.  AND there are links that allow the user to track the ship of their choice.

For example, click here to see exactly where on the planet you can find the Maunalei a container ship that carries 20′, 40′, and 45′ refrigerated containers and is pictured above.

Currently the Maunalei is somewhere near that island from Lost:

Where's Maunalei? There it is!

You know who would really appreciate this website?

Somali pirates.
