Seth Williams back on DA ballot: and then there were 5… again

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 at 2:58 pm - by Dan Pohlig. Filed under: Politics.

Just got an email from the Williams campaign that the Commonwealth Court overturned Judge Tereshko’s ruling that removed him from the primary ballot. YPP, unofficial home of the Seth Williams fan club, has a link to the 1-page decision. The decision indicates that the judge’s opinion will follow.

Williams’ email makes no mention of his campaign continuing to get candidate Michael Turner removed from the ballot for a different technicality so hopefully that puts an end to this schizophrenic attitude in which getting kicked off a ballot for some paperwork snafu is ok as long as it’s not me.

So it appears that we are back to a five-way race in which the next DA of a city of 1.5 million could be chosen by as few as 20 percent plus 1 of the 100,000 or so registered voters who choose to vote in the May 19th Democratic primary.  What a country!
