At least the Canadians love Philly

Greg Heller at Urban Direction points out that the Canadians appear to have a little crush on the City of Brotherly Love.

So don’t worry, Philadelphia. Even though a riverfront casino with a 3,000-space parking garage is now on schedule to open within a year (more on that later, I’m sure), we can take comfort in knowing that someone in Ottawa thinks Philadelphia looks great:

Philadelphia isn’t the New Jerusalem. But it shows smarts, heart and grit. Whatever their excess, these Americans still understand what matters most.

Now, if we can just avoid letting this casino turn Philadelphia into the 2015 dystopia of Hill Valley in Back to the Future Part II, we can justify this Canadian’s faith in our smarts, heart and grit.
