SugarHouse Casino Picks Up Foundation Permit

Friday, March 27th, 2009 at 1:29 pm - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Casinos.

The casino developers behind SugarHouse Casino finally got the foundation permit that they wanted. The permit was part of the casino’s recent complaint to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that the City of Philadelphia was moving too slow in the approval process. Earlier this week, the high court agreed with SugarHouse and approved its request for a “Special Master” to resolve any future disputes.

SugarHouse, in a statement released today, says it will now be able to move forward with its plan to build the slots-only casino along the banks of the Delaware River.

The city’s other planned casino still hasn’t made up its mind on exactly where in the downtown Gallery Mall its wants to build its casino.

Hopefully this will beautify a now wasting site along the Delaware River that was once a very active and lovely place to visit.
