Fumo Verdict: The Day After
Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 7:57 am - by Matt Campbell. Filed under: Courts.
The Philadelphia newspapers went all out to cover the verdict in the federal The Philadelphia corruption trial of former Pennsylvania state senator Vincent Fumo. The democrat who spent more than 30 years in the legislature was convicted on all 137 counts on fraud and obstruction of justice.
It was a stunning defeat for Fumo who became one of the city and the state’s most powerful politicians. A member of mensa who was credited for (legally) bringing billions of dollars in state money to the Philadelphia region.

What do you think? Will Fumo spend the rest of his life in jail? Are there grounds for an appeal? Are you shocked to see Fumo fall like this? Did the evidence against him seem overwhelming?
