It’s Our Money: Philly folks CAN be interested in the budget!

Check out Ben Waxman’s op-ed in today’s Daily News about the citizen budget workshops. His take on it: Philadelphians have shown a remarkable capacity to try and learn the ins and outs of something as esoteric as the city budget and that, combined with the city’s willingness to participate, has been remarkable.
My questions:
Will the “revolution” that many Philadelphians are clamoring for, the big ideas that weren’t included in cuts for this year’s budget because of time constraints, be acted upon after this budget round is over?
Will the citizenry remain as engaged and be as interested in this process after the current crisis passes (assuming it does, in fact, pass)?
Reminder
The final citizen’s budget workshop will take place tonight at the Pinn Memorial Baptist Church,
2251 N. 54th Street. Registration starts at 6 PM and things get going promptly at 7. Show up early enough to get your free snacks!
It's Our City is a project that uses TV, Radio and Web
to promote civic engagement in the Philadelphia region.
