Day 0: Share photos, stories of the Philly Inauguration experience

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 2:57 pm - by Dan Pohlig. Filed under: Uncategorized.

The Big Day

After counting down for hundreds and hundreds of days, these Philadelphia residents mark the beginning.

Well, you didn’t think I’d string you along for the past week without including a pic from the actual day of the Inauguration, did you?  A countdown that started well over 500 days ago (at least since I’ve been observing it) has finally ended and this residence in Philadelphia marks the beginning of a new administration.  Perhaps they’ll start counting up.

Today, we’ve brought you pictures of the scenes around the Independence Mall area and the event at WHYY itself.  Now it’s your turn.  Where were you?  What did you see?  From Abington to Yeadon in the region, or Andorra to Yorktown in the city, we want you to share your stories and photos with us.  Read Chris Satullo’s account of the events at WHYY, share your story in the comments section of this or any of our Inauguration posts.  You can email photos or share them with us through Flickr by joining our Flickr group.

Oh yeah… down in the corner of that window pictured above… next the “09″, is this simple tribute:
