Less than 24 hours to go… share your plans and pics with us!

The end… or the beginning… or almost here. In a little over 22 hours, the United States government will conduct the peaceful transfer of power to its 44th president and commander-in-chief. Where will you be when it happens? Share your story in the comments section to this or any of our other Inauguration countdown posts. Commenter Phillybits made us aware of ‘Get Your Barack On!’ at The Plough on 2nd Street between Market and Chestnut. WHYY is also getting into the spirit of things. We’ll be greeting over 200 guests to watch the events from our Civic Space and Studio 1. (I’ll be sure to take pictures!)
We’re still looking for your photos as well. If you see any signs of Inauguration prep in the region, snap a picture and email it to us or join our Flickr group and share it. The same goes for pictures of your Inauguration experience tomorrow. Take a picture of the crowds, the parties and the entire experience and share it with us.
It's Our City is a project that uses TV, Radio and Web
to promote civic engagement in the Philadelphia region.

What I really like about that picture is that it’s full of implicit anticipation. It went from a daily countdown represented by a triple, then double, and then single digit blue numbers on white paper to the picture we now see before us.
By themselves, it’s just two stars and a number but there is so much excitement in that picture one can literally feel it.
These are truly exciting times we are living in. So glad I’m around the witness it.

I wonder what they will put up today? Just a zero? Or maybe 50 stars.

I don’t know either! I can’t wait to see, though! Perhaps an American flag?

I went by this morning on my way to work and the “1″ with stars was still up. Perhaps they’re waiting until noon for the big reveal. I’m going to head up after the speech to see what is in the window.
