Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter told the crowd last Thursday night that after seven previous meetings he has got the message that people don’t want him to make the budget cuts. But the mayor said, they will happen. Facing a $108 million dollar shortfall between now and June 30th the city, he said, has to make cuts immedietly. The meeting held on Dec 18, 2008 was the last of eight public meetings to discuss the city’s fiscal emergency. It was held at Martin Luther King Jr. High School on 6100 Stenton Ave in NW Philadelphia.
